Fans might have been waiting anxiously for the release but Hrithik has not let them down and has kept them intrigued. Riding high on the success of Agneepath and celebrating his 39th birthday on the 10th of January, and voted as the sexiest actor in Bollywood on Twitter recently — he promises to delight his fans with an action backed 2013 and indicates there is lots more coming!
In an exclusive interview with Times of Oman, he discloses what is keeping him busy these days.
What are you up to these days? Preoccupied with? How does 2013 look for you? An amazing feat of activities and projects! We are finishing off Krrish 3 filming currently which releases in Diwali 2013. I start filming for the Indian re-make of Knight and Day (Fox Star Studio's Indian remake of the Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz movie) with Katrina from mid February13 — that's going to be one action packed film!
What is the scheduled date of release for Krish 3? It is planned for release in Diwali 2013. Should fans expect anything from the sequel? What is the plot? I'm unable to reveal too much about the script at this stage but if you loved Koi Mil Gaya and the earlier Krrish then you will hopefully like this edition of the franchise too. It's an amalgam of adrenaline, action-packed sequences, romance, never before seen visual effects, gripping script and more!
Is something preventing you from entering Hollywood? I wouldn't say there is a barrier as such, but it's about the deciding factors that push you to make an entry — it's like with any project, the script and schedules.
Do you wish to make an entry there? Are you in talks? I guess it really depends on the right script — there have been offers before but either the role hasn't been right or I have been committed to other projects therefore the schedules haven't worked out.
How do you balance work and personal life? It can be extremely difficult being away from family when I'm at work, but I do try and see my family as much as I can as they mean a lot to me. I guess it's crucial to prioritise time accordingly. It doesn't matter how much time you spend with your family, it's never really enough. But coming from a family where filmmaking runs through our veins, we do understand the pressures associated with work thus the understanding between us for our work always helps us to strike that important balance.
How did you celebrate your birthday? Was it planned? Amazingly with my immediate family and some very close friends in Mumbai, on a yacht. It was a beautiful surprise that my wife Sussanne had planned for me. My birthdays are always an intimate family affair for me and the love that pours in from all quarters — be it from family, friends, my team, film fraternity and my fans makes it a very special day for me. I couldn't ask for more. I am so blessed and grateful for the gift of love :-) People like you as a dancer. Sadly, the dance seems to be missing in your movies these days, is it intentional? Not at all! However cliched this sounds, I guess the scripts I've currently been working on just haven't demanded any breakthrough dance sequences. But never say never though!
