Dr. Navneet Saini, works with Oman United Insurance Company as an Assistant Manager Medical and Life Division. She handles the medical insurance division of the company.
Navneet took deep interest in studies but also involved herself in extra-curricular activities. She got her MBBS degree from Government Medical College in Amritsar, India, in 2000. She practiced medicine for 2 years in India but then moved to the UK where she worked for 4 years. She also acquired a Master of Business Administration degree during her stay in Britain.
While speaking to Times of Oman, Navneet, the mother of a three years old kid, said: "I decided to go for an MBA because I wanted to explore the administrative side while using the medical knowledge I acquired over the years. MBA was a good decision because it opened pharmaceutical, hospital administration and health insurance sectors for me."
She came back to India to do her MBA in Human Resource Management and worked in India as a hospital administrator as well as a practitioner for two years. After that, she moved to Oman and worked in KIMS as a hospital administrator. She joined Oman United Insurance Company as an Assistant Manager in 2011.
"When handling medical insurance, you need a qualified person who can understand the requirements of the client as well as maintain a balance between premium that we collect from clients and services that we deliver to them. So I have to balance out the claims in a way that it is a win-win situation for the clients, hospitals, service providers and the insurance company," Navneet Saini told Times of Oman.
Message to the society as a woman and mother:
"As a working woman, as a highly qualified professional or as a mother, we have to maintain a balance between work and life. Work will never end, it will continue. But our kids' childhood is never going to come back again. So all working women should work hard for that fine line where we have to do justice with our children as well as work. At no point, should our work become more important than our children."
