Muscat Festival started in 1998 as a podium of cultural and artistic extravaganza. In the 16th successive year, the mega event of Muscat Festival 2013 took place from 30 January to 28th February. The festival is packed with concerts, musical shows, laser shows, dazzling fireworks, sports, outdoor and fashion events. Some important events to look out for are the Tour of Oman which is one of the biggest cycling events in the Middle East. 2014 edition of the Muscat Festival , according to the organizers, have gained an increased international recognition. Almost 60 countries are expected to take part in the annual extravaganza which also would feature the prestigious cycling event Tour of Oman and many more sport events for the first time. Al Amerat Park and Naseem Gardens, the two main venues of the 2014 edition of the Muscat Festival, would open their gates to the public, inviting them to a world of colours, dances, music and delicacies. Dazzling shows coupled with the harmony of pyrotechnics would mesmerise them and the carnival atmosphere would continue to lure the public for the next 30 days.
