Muscat: Future Cricket Club recorded a seven-wicket victory over Asian Brothers to lift the title at the Annual Day Cricket Cup 2014.
In the final of the tournament, organised by Indian Social Club's Bhojpuri Wing with support from Gulf Cricket Centre Muscat, Asian Brothers deciding to bat first scored 72 for three in eight overs thanks to a top score of 49 runs from Amjad.
For Future CC, pick of the bowlers was Waseem who claimed two wickets. In reply, Future CC chased down the target in 4.4 overs losing three wickets. Waseem scored 33 runs and Shaggir hit an unbeaten 19.
Earlier in the semifinal, Future Cricket Club defeated Renaissance XI by 90 runs.
Batting first, Future Cricket Club set a huge target of 154 for two in eight overs with Waseem scoring a blistering 67 of just 17 balls with eight sixes while Irfan scored 38 off 14 balls.
For Renaissance, Mohan and Imran shared one wicket each.
In reply, Renaissance managed to score just 64 runs in eight overs. Dilshan scored 43 in 24 balls.
Saddam took two wickets.
Asian Brothers scored a 57-run win over Maqsood XI in their semifinal. After being asked to bat first, Asian Brothers scored 77 for eight in eight overs with Amjad scoring 22 in 13 balls. For Maqsood XI,
Chetan and Mamoon claimed three wickets each.
In reply, Maqsood XI were bundled out just 20 runs in 5.4 overs. The top bowlers for Asian Brothers were Sajid and Jishan, who claimed three and two wickets respectively.
Arun Kumar Pandey, Managing Director of Al Yaam enterprises and Sun Shine LLC, was the chief guest on the occasion.
