Muscat: The first luxury resort in the stunning Jabal Akhdar mountain — Alila Jabal Akhdar resort — will open doors for guests on May 8.
This destination resort will draw guests seeking a top-of-the-world experience combined with its ultimate location in the dramatic mountainous region of Jabal Al Akhdar in Oman. "The resort is not 100 per cent complete now. We have 86 rooms in total. But one fourth of it is ready for guests now," Jork Bosselaar, general manager of Alila Jabal Akhdar told the Times of Oman.
Providing a literal breath of fresh air, dramatic views, supreme access to one of the country's most spectacular and undiscovered areas, the Alila Jabal Akhdar is the first resort of its kind, where absolute peace and tranquillity is guaranteed.
Once ready, Alila Jabal Akhdar will feature a total of 84 suites and two Jabal villas along with a spectacular cliff-side restaurant, outdoor and indoor pools, Spa Alila and fitness facilities as well as beautiful event spaces.
The resort is owned by Omran, a prominent operator and asset manager of tourism in Oman, and it is managed by Alila Hotels & Resorts.
Bosselaar said Alila Hotels & Resorts president Mark Edleson will also visit Jabal Akhdar today to mark the resort's partial soft opening.
Bosselaar also noted that in keeping with its philosophy of community involvement, Alila Hotels & Resorts will celebrate the opening of the new Alila Jabal Akhdar with a 'Gift to Share Programme' focusing on benefiting the local community.
Designed as an introductory privilege for local and GCC residents, guests booking one night's stay will receive a complimentary second night in return for a donation to an approved government charity. This offer is up to July 24 and the fund raised by way of donation will be contributed to a charity organisation in Jabal Akhdar area. Set 2,000 metres above sea level just two-and-a-half hour drive from Muscat, the resort will provide access to one of Oman's most spectacular and untapped regions.
