Muscat: The May Queen Ball is back! Following the full house response to last year's event, the organisers have planned to make it even more irresistible this year by roping in Goa's number one band to perform at the event.
The dine and dance event will be held at the Civil Aviation Club, Seeb (Murjan Hall) on May 23, 2014 from 7pm onwards. Those familiar with the music scene in Goa know that the residents of Muscat are indeed fortunate to have the most sought after band in the state on their turf.
This team of gifted musicians has set the bar high for live bands in Goa. The band is made up of versatile musicians and singers with the line-up including Alfin Fernandes on the keyboards, Marwino Dacosta on bass guitar, Grayston Vaz on lead guitar, Joe Pereira on drums, Abigail Vaz as the female vocalist and guitarist and band manager Lester Rodrigues.
A26 has become a musically empowered act since they started four years ago.
They have played in every major city in India and have had a blast bringing the house down at every venue they have performed at. They play a minimum of 100 gigs every year and have earned a reputation for providing exceptional music, outstanding service and professionalism.
May Queen is one of the eagerly-awaited annual events in Muscat, especially after last year's resounding success that attracted a full-house. This year, ISC-Goan Wing, GCO, is once again set to organise their traditional and most colourful social annual gathering that will have a lot many surprises.
The May Queen competition is open to unmarried girls between the age group of 16-25 years. Eligible candidates can contact firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.facebook.com/ISCGoanWing to receive the application form to register.
One of the highlights of the evening will be the popular MC, Updesh Swar, who has anchored many events in Goa since the past 15 years including the International Film Festival of India.
The ISC-Goan Wing, GCO, undertakes to organise major events keeping in mind the traditional hospitality, cultural heritage and music of their beautiful charismatic state - Goa.
Led by Ansalmo Goes, Convenor of ISC- Goan Wing and well assisted by his managing committee members, the team has kept the Goan culture and spirit alive among the large number of Goan expatriates in Oman.
The GCO has always been in the forefront to support various causes in Goa. It is, therefore, not surprising that the events they have hosted over the last decade, have garnered a lot of support, a perfect example being the May Queen Ball.
