Oman Cricket opens development camp

Training sessions for cricket development at grass-roots levels was inaugurated by Oman Cricket (OC) in association with the Ras Al Hamra Recreation Club (RAHRC) at the multi-purpose sports hall at RAHRC premises here recently.
The sessions which commenced will be held once a week for the next 10 weeks from 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Saturdays. There will be a break during the holy month of Ramadhan and sessions will resume immediately after the Eid holidays. Thirty-six boys and girls, children of members of the RAHRC attended the inaugural session.
According to RAHRC officials, 60 children between the ages of six to 13 years have been registered with a few more on waiting list many of them were on their Easter vacation and will return to attend the camp in the next couple of weeks.
Asian Cricket Council-accredited Level II coaches Miss Vaishali Jesrani, Desmond Berhardt and Nilesh Parmar were delegated by Oman Cricket (OC) to handle the coaching sessions. The coaches will be assisted by a few volunteers of the RAHRC. In addition plastic cricket equipment was provided by OC to be used during the training.
Khalid Khabouri, President of RAHRC, together with Madhu Jesrani, Secretary of OC, inaugurated the session with Madhu bowling the first ball to Khalid.
