Muscat: Majees Lighting Industries, a local firm that recently launched its LED luminaries, aims at capturing a good share of the Omani market, thanks to its tie- ups and ten-year guarantee offer.
"We strongly believe that with our ten-year guarantee, we will be able to stand up against international brands," said Ahmad S. Nasser, general manager of Majees Lighting.
"The major challenge in our industry today is the turn in consumer's mindset by switching from conventional light bulbs to LED modules. The fast developments and advances in LED technology are redirecting the lighting industry to adopt and develop suitable lighting fixtures to meet customer functional needs," he added.
Majees, along with its strategic partner KR Infra (the infrastructure arm of Khimji Ramdas), has succeeded in developing a range of locally manufactured LED products in the last twelve months and will continue to impress its customers with new and innovative lighting solutions.
A definite surge in the requirement for more energy-efficient lighting sources, which are also eco-friendly, is enabling newer intelligent lighting systems, and a growing demand for LED-based products.
It is a matter of pride to witness a 100 per cent Omani brand, Majelite, take on the might of global competition with a product offering, which is second to none when it comes to aesthetics and functionality.
Majelite has been expanding and developing its range of products in line with the current market demands, bringing to the Omani market the latest in the LED range of luminaries.
The launch of the advanced LED range has been the result of purposeful and consistent work over the last two years of partnering with world leading LED manufacturers from Italy, Korea, and Germany to develop and test the new LED range, noted Nasser.
The company is licensed for 150,000 fittings per annum and is at 70 per cent utilisation of that capacity as of now.
Majelite has its 8500 square metres state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Sohar industrial estate with a dedicated team of highly qualified professionals, and advanced automated CNC machinery, servicing the lighting industry in Oman.
"Majees has implemented a major expansion in 2009 and has enough capacity to service the Oman and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market," added Nasser.
"We have always tied up with world leaders for our components and raw materials which ensure the quality of our fixtures," he said, adding: "For the new LED venture, we have tied up with Samsung Korea and TCI Italy for the development of our LED range of products, which we have launched recently."
All LED fixtures have passed the functional and safety requirements as stipulated by the company's technical partners and verified the outcome in terms of efficiency and durability in there laboratories.
The global lighting market is expected to be worth more than €100 billion by 2020, according to a report from McKinsey & Company on the worldwide lighting industry which also indicated sizable growth for LED-based lighting.
