Muscat: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the Office of Electronic Communications of the Republic of Poland will lead to further cooperation between the two agencies in the regulation of the telecommunications and postal sectors.
The MoU aims at strengthening the existing friendly relations through the exchange of ideas, information, personnel, skills and experience. Hamad bin Salem Al Rawahi, the executive president of TRA, signed on behalf of the Omani side, while Magdalena GAJ, President of the Office of Electronic Communications, signed on behalf of the Polish group.
The MoU encourages the adoption of regulatory aspects of the telecom markets in the two countries, which include management of the radio spectrum and allocation of new frequency bands to increase access.
It also aims to boost the quality of mobile Internet, as well as the development of mobile networks to provide the services for mobile access to the Internet, obtaining data sources.
The agreement's other focus includes enhancing methodology for the calculation of economic indicators in the telecom sector that contribute in establishing systems for the collection of detailed information on the telecom infrastructure.
