Women get free health check-up in City Centres across Muscat

More than 400 women took the initiative to check the health of their hearts over two weekends by visiting the City Centre, Muscat and City Centre, Qurum. These ladies were utilising the complimentary offer being provided at the mega malls.
The drive was part of a global awareness campaign called 'Go Red for Women,' supported by Majid Al Futtaim. This marks the second year that City Centre malls have hosted this campaign with the aim to raise a red flag on cardiovascular disease.
Over the course of two weekends at City Centres in Muscat and Qurum, medical professionals from the Medical Simulation Centre, Oman conducted a series of tests, including blood pressure, blood sugar, Body Mass Index (BMI), and cholesterol rate in addition to providing advice on how to prevent the risk of cardiovascular disease through nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The team also trained more than 400 visitors on how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to save the life of a person who is in cardiac arrest.
First introduced by the City Centre malls to the Sultanate, 'Go Red for Women' is a global campaign founded by American Heart Association and supported by Majid Al Futtaim in the Middle East.
This year, 13 shopping malls in five nations - Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates - made this the largest health-related sustainability initiative by Majid Al Futtaim.
