Muscat Sheraton flyover construction work set to begin next month
The Sheraton Hotel signal intersection has been closed due to the flyover work underway in the area. The traffic is being diverted through alternative routes.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced that due to the ongoing work to develop flyovers and the road from Darsait to Wadi Al Kabir, the signal intersection of Sheraton Hotel will remain closed and traffic will be diverted to alternative routes from today till the flyover work is completed.
The ROP, in its announcement in both Arabic and English, has urged commuters using this road to be careful and follow the traffic instructions. Citing Muscat Municipality officials, the Times of Oman had reported recently that an estimated 18 per cent of the work on the flyover near Sheraton Hotel in Ruwi has also been completed.
The officials have expressed their satisfaction on the pace of work on the two-way bridge.
Once it is completed, commuting will become easier for those travelling between Wadi Al Kabir and Al Bustan and Ruwi, Qurum via Darsait.
It was reported that the work on the bridge near Stars Cinema would continue for some time. It is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year.
