Oman is participating in the book fair as a guest of honour.–ONA
Seoul International Book Fair 2014 began at the COEX Exhibition Centre in the Korean capital under the aegis of Yoo Jin-Ryong, the country's Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Dr Abdel Munim bin Mansour Al Hasani, Minister of Information. It will run until June 22.
The Korean minister, accompanied by the Minister of Information, also opened the Sultanate's stand. Oman is participating in the fair as a guest of honour on the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism told the Oman News Agency (ONA) after a tour of the Sultanate's stand that he came to know about the richness of Omani civilisation and the natural beauty that Oman is endowed with and hoped to visit the Sultanate soon.
He noted that Oman's participation in the fair as a guest of honour will contribute towards consolidating mutual ties and deepen the understanding between the two friendly countries. He said he was impressed with the material underlining various aspects of Omani culture and achievements.
The Ministry of Information is participating in the book fair by setting up an integrated stand designed in the form of a castle. It reflects the heritage of the Sultanate and the unique architecture of castles. The stand includes many books on literature, culture, economics and tourism.
