Muscat: Oman will take part on Tuesday in the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in Jeddah and the 40th anniversary of the bank.
Darwish bin Ismaiel Al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs, Governor of IDB, will lead the Sultanate's delegation to the meeting.
A number of Ministers of Finance, Economy and Planning from the member states will participate in the three-day meeting and the accompanying events, along with representatives of member states, regional and international finance institutions, Islamic banks, and consultants and finance funds in the Islamic states.
The meeting will discuss its agenda, including IDB report in cooperation with an international consultant office specialised in assessing the activities of IDB group in the last four decades and the proposed strategy for IDB group for the next ten years.
The Board of Governors will review in its report the fifth increase in the capital of IDB in implementation of a decision taken last year by IDB Board of Governors in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan in the 38th annual meeting of IDB Board of Governors.
