Muscat: Malaysia recorded a six-wicket victory over Oman with 44 balls to spare in the ongoing International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cricket Legue (WCL) Division 4 in Singapore Friday.
The defeat was Oman's fourth in five matches and their lone victory in the six-team event came against Jersey, whom they will play again today in the fifth-place play-off match.
In yesterday's match, Malaysia, after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, did well to bundled out the Sultanate squad for 198 runs in 49.4 overs.
Skipper Sultan Ahmed top scored for Oman with 55 while opener Zeeshan Maqsood and Amir Ali scored 45 and 30 runs respectively.
For Malaysia, Shahrulnizam Yusof claimed three wickets while Hassan Ghulam, Suharril Fetri and Nasir Shafiq bagged two wickets apiece.
In reply, Malaysia reached the target in 42.4 overs scoring 201 runs for the loss of four wickets.
Ahmed Faiz scored 70 runs and Suharril Fetri remained not out on 46 runs.
