Two persons of Asian nationality were arrested in Buraimi governorate when they tried to enter the country illegally.
An official of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said the two were arrested after a search of the vehicle in which they were travelling in Wadi Jizi. The two were found in the trunk of the vehicle. They had no official documents with them.
The ROP has called upon citizens and residents to make extra efforts to cooperate with the security forces in order to combat the infiltrators by informing the nearest police point if they suspect the presence of any infiltrators.
The department for combating narcotics and psychotropic substances of Barka arrested seven people of Asian nationalities for peddling drugs. A total of 2,210 capsules of heroin were seized from their possession. An ROP official pointed out that the seven accused were arrested from the beach adjacent to Al Jaradi area in the wilayat of Barka after they embarked from a boat involved in smuggling.
Similarly, two persons of Asian nationality were arrested on the charges of drug trafficking in the Sara area of the wilayat of Buraimi, and 77 capsules of heroin were seized from them along with 10 bundles of Hashish. Legal action was initiated against all the accused who were produced before the Public Prosecution for trial.
The Dakhiliyah Police Command organised an Iftar meal offering on the road that links the Dakhiliyah governorate with the Dahirah governorate.
The initiative is aimed at offering Iftar meals and advice to road users, who are advised to avoid overspeeding to reach home in time for the Iftar meal.
