270 Labour Law violators face action; 254 deported
Muscat: The number of workers found violating the Labour Law during the period from July 6 to 12 stood at 270, including 223 commercial workers, 17 farm workers and 30 housemaids and their equivalents, according to the weekly report of the joint inspection team at the Ministry of Manpower. The Manpower Ministry statistics also show that 254 expatriate workers were deported for violating provisions of the Labour Law and the ministerial decisions executing the law.

Al Rafd Fund in Sohar soon
Muscat: Al Rafd Fund will open its branch in the Wilayat of Sohar next Saturday. The opening ceremony will be held under the patronage of Dr Hamad bin Saif Al Oufi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries for Fisheries, and deputy chairman of Al Rafd Fund. Sohar branch will be the third branch of Al Rafd Fund, besides Salalah branch, which was recently launched, and the headquarters in Muscat. Al Rafd Fund also launched last month its mobile branch, which renders services and information related to entrepreneurship.

Oman Air staff course held
Muscat: Minister of Transport and Communications Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi presented certificates to 29 members of Oman Air's  staff. The presentation took place at Oman Air's offices at the new Salalah International Airport, where the members of staff had completed a three-month workplace training course focusing on customer services within airport operations.
