Muscat: Winners of the Times of Oman-Shabiba Ramadan promotion draw have expressed joy over being the "lucky ones".
What made it very special was the announcement of the winners list before the onset of of Eid Al Fitr holidays.
Thanking Times of Oman and Al Shabiba for organising the draw before the Eid holidays began most of the winners said, "it was a very thoughtful gesture from the publications."
Saying he was "thrilled" to receive the call that he had won Kumar V said, "Times of Oman has always been very generous in whatever it does. It has proved it again that it is number one in every sphere including when it comes to give awards to 200 winners during the holy month of Ramadan."
Pankaj Singh Parihar said: "I felt elated at having won my first ever draw since I came to Oman eight years back. I used to fill lot of coupons in various hypermarkets and other promotions but never won anything. I had started to think that all these draws are just hoaxes but then I won here. Thanks to Times of Oman and Al Shabiba for bringing cheers in the month of Ramadan."
Shreya Deepak Yadav, one of the winners, said that winning the raffle draw of the Times of Oman was "one of the best moments of my life."
"I felt blessed as I won the draw in the holy month of Ramadan. I didn't expect to win this draw. I would only say this became possible because of God's grace. I would like to thank the Times of Oman for coming up with concept of the Ramadan promotion," Yadav said.
Another winner Satyajit Basak said, "I thank the Times of Oman and Al Shabiba for this gesture. It was a perfect Eid gift for me and for my family. We were overwhelmed. It was a great statrt for the Eid holidays."
Lauding the publication for the well organised draw, Tripthi Nelson, who received the prize on behalf of her five-month-old son Nathan Almeida, said: "Winning the draw was a total surprise. It really added a flavour to the joy of our Eid holidays. The real happiness was being among the lucky winners. We are glad that we had filled in the coupon in the name of our five month-old-son Nathan Almeida'. We look forward to similar concepts from the group," she said.
Happy having won, Ripon Ganish Paul said, "This was the first time I have ever one a draw. That it came in the holy month of Ramadan when we were preparing for the long Eid Al Fitr holidays made it even more special. It was great fun to win such a prize on such an occasion. I express my gratitude towards the Times of Oman and Al Shabiba."
As part of the series, the third and final draw of the Times of Oman and Al Shabiba Ramadan promotion was held on July 23 where 15 lucky winners of attractive cash prizes were chosen.
The first lucky winner of the draw was Alaa Zaher Al Harthy who won OMR1,000.
Nibras Mohammed Said Al Habsi and Khalid Mohammed Al Hashmi won OMR500 each. Twelve of the winners received a prize of OMR250 each.
The organisers said that the promotion received an overwhelming response from the readers.
"The winners are requested to collect their prizes before August 14," organisers said.
