Muscat: Al Nimr International for Exhibition Organising and Management (Al Nimr Expo), which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, said it is organising five trade shows within the next few months.
These include an exhibition on higher education, training and career opportunities – EduTraC Oman – between September 22 and 24 in Muscat and between September 28 and 29 in Sohar and Public Transport Conference on October 13 and 14.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, Salim bin Omar Al Hashmi, chief executive officer (CEO) of Al Nimr Expo, said the company has made tremendous progress as the first firm to organise 25 exhibitions and conferences since its inception.
The company, in a short span of time, became a member of UFI and its exhibitions were verified by BPA, the first Omani company to get auditing.
"The company developed a plan to organise six exhibitions and six conferences on a regular basis every year," added Al Hashmi. It plans to hold a number of exhibitions and conferences of international standards, characterised by unique services. The success was due to competent staff, who are able to work efficiently in this field to provide better services.
Referring to the amendments made in exhibition regulations, Al Hashmi said there are some negative impacts resulting from this. "We do our best to cope with the new regulations and call the ministry to coordinate with Oman International Exhibition Centre (OIEC) and evaluate the exhibition organising companies in terms of their contribution."
Talking about a proposal to create an association for exhibition and conference companies, he supported such a proposal and to cooperate in this regard because such an entity will help all companies in this sector.
The exhibitions conducted by Al Nimr over the last five years include Luxurious Cars and Consumer Exhibition, Media and Advertising, Indian Real Estate, Consumer Exhibition, Infra Oman and Interior Design, Decoration and Furniture Expo.
Al Nimr also organised the Sri Lankan Expo for the first time in the Sultanate in cooperation with Sri Lankan embassy in Muscat. Al Nimr also plans to conduct four to five trade shows next year.
