Muscat: A number of wilayats in Oman received moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thundershowers and hailstorms on Sunday, leading to flooding in some wadis, according to reports coming from the interior regions.

Flash floods were reported in the wadis of Izki, Samayl, Ibra, Ibri, Nizwa, Bahla, Yanqul and Dhank. Strong gusts of winds led to collapsing of several electrical poles on Jabreen-Nizwa road, as well as minor losses in properties.

No casualties have been reported so far, according to the Royal Oman Police officials.

The Public Authority for Civil Aviation has urged people to be cautious during rains and not risk crossing wadis.

People should avoid going to the sea and follow the weather forecast released by the authority before venturing outdoors.

Fishermen have also been advised to be careful while venturing into the seas.

Rains are required in Muscat desperately.
And by rains I mean rains which closes things for a day or two.
Need good relaxation.
