Indian School Muscat teachers enhance their skills at special workshop

Muscat: Indian School Muscat recently organised a three-day teachers' training workshop aimed at upgrading the potential of teachers, as per the guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.

The entire 350 plus teaching staff partook in the workshop on 'Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and CBSE Initiatives,' which encompassed modules such as Teaching Pedagogies, Multiple Modes of Assessment, Life Skills and Value Education.

Ten Master Trainers from S. Chand Harcourt, India, a CBSE empanelled Teachers' Training Organisation, led by eminent educationists Neera Chopra, Sarita Mathur and Veena Ranjan, imparted knowledge and skills, equipping the teachers with innovative training methods.

It gave an overall idea about how to approach anecdotal records and most importantly, the function and evaluation of teaching-learning tools and systems.

The workshop was inaugurated by Gurbinder Singh Punn, Chairman, Academic Sub-Committee of School Management, in the presence of Dr. Avirat Vaishnav, President, and other honourable members of the School Management Committee.

Principal Srinivas K. Naidu, in his welcome address, stressed on the prerequisites for professional development of the teachers.  In his address, Punn stressed on the rapid fluctuations in the field of academics in the world and the need for greater skills.

All sessions were scholarly experiences with teachers dynamically partaking in the learning process, linking themselves in group activities, discussions and making it a  collaborative workshop.
