GCC teams to take part in Gulf Scout Jamboree
Salalah: The GCC delegations participating in the Gulf Scout Jamboree 'Advanced Scout Category' will reach here today. The Jamboree has been organised by the Directorate-General for Scouts and Guides in the Ministry of Education from August 19 to 26 under the theme 'Scouting: Culture of Dialogue and Peace'.

Five-hundred scout leaders and scouts from the Sultanate and GCC states will be participating in the Jamboree. Director General of Scouts and Guides Khamis bin Salim Al Rasbi stressed the importance of utilising the potential of participants and turning them into results that contribute to serve themselves and their communities. He added that the Gulf Jamboree is one of the important camps that come under the plan of the GCC Secretariat General, which was already approved by heads and officials of the Gulf scouts.

The camp aims to strengthen the bonds of friendship and love among scout leaders and scouts of the GCC countries, encourage the exchange of experiences between leaders, learn about the historical and cultural heritage, and natural and tourism assets, along with the achievements of the Renaissance in Dhofar Governorate, in addition to other objectives.

Seminar on 'Ibtikari' project conducted in Salalah
Salalah: A seminar titled 'Ibtikari' project was held at Crowne Plaza Salalah yesterday under the patronage of Sayyid Mohamed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar. The forum was organised by the branch of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in the Governorate of Dhofar. The forum included a panel discussion in the presence of Ahmed bin Hassan Al Dheeb, undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry during which he talked about the government's interest in supporting projects, innovations and investment opportunities among youth members and enhancing the entrepreneurial spirit in exploring the viable investment opportunities. 

Tariq bin Sulaiman Al Farsi, CEO of Al Rafd Fund gave a speech highlighting Al Rafd Fund, its mechanisms and funding programmes. He also underlined the role of the Public Authority for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (PADSME) in preparing entrepreneurs capable of running their own projects.

Entrepreneurship Forum 'I Can' launched in Dhofar
Salalah: The Entrepreneurship Modelling Forum 'I Can' organised by Al Najah Human Resources Development Centre, in collaboration with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Dhofar, opened yesterday under the auspices of Said bin Saleh Al Kiyoumi, OCCI Chairman. The chief guest pointed out that the forum aims at helping entrepreneurs and youths to start their own ventures and use them as their major source of income.

Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al Ma'ashani, Manager of Al Najah Human Resources Development Centre delivered said that the forum would include a number of working papers that will be presented by a group of experts and specialists who are in-charge of companies and centers that support the SMEs. The forum, which targets jobseekers, entrepreneurs, colleges' and universities' students, aims at providing participants with the skills that ensure success of their ventures.
