Taqah: The Gulf Scout Jamboree themed 'Scouting: the Culture of Dialogue and Peace,' concluded at the headquarters of the Permanent Scout Campsite in Mount Ashur Plain in Dhofar Governorate on Monday.
The camp was held under the patronage of Mustafa bin Ali Abdul Latif, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Commander of the camp delivered a speech on behalf of the Directorate General of Scouts and Guides during which he said that the camp sought to improve the capacities of the young participants in the various activities. It also aimed at development of knowledge on tourist and natural attractions in the Sultanate.
Ali Abbas, head of the delegation of the State of Kuwait made a statement on behalf of the delegations participating in the camp during which he hailed the success of the camp and the achievement of its objectives in providing opportunities for getting together and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among the GCC scouts.
The chief guest honoured sponsors and participants in the camp, in addition to viewing lowering the flag' ceremony of the participating countries, marking the end of the camp. About 450 leaders and scouts from the Sultanate, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait participated in the Gulf Scout Jamboree at Mount Ashur Plain, which included many activities, scientific events and orientation trips throughout Dhofar Governorate.
