Oman's only donation portal
has achieved a remarkable record this year. The website recorded 9,389 electronic transaction entries worth OMR290,642 based on the last August update by the ePayment portal at the Information Technology Authority (ITA).
Donations made for Oman Charitable Organisation and Al Rahma Charity Team topped the list with donations reaching up to OMR160.371 and OMR76.068, respectively. Dar Al Atta'a Charity comes third with OMR50.789.
The donation portal remains available as new donors are welcome to further support the less privileged especially for the ongoing crises as in Syria and Gaza.
Choosing from many participating charity organisations in the Sultanate, the portal makes it easy to donate with a single click from anywhere and at any time.
The bilingual online portal (www.donate.om) is designed for transparency, convenience and user-friendliness. The donation portal's guiding principles allow citizens as well as residents of the Sultanate to make direct donations using their bank credit cards to the respective bank accounts of the charitable organisations. High priority is given to security, ensuring all transactions are carried out accurately and safely.
As an alternative to visiting the portal, donors now have the option to donate via the mobile app, which is easily downloaded from the online portal or Android's Play store.
Both, the portal and the app, support humanitarian efforts for charity by eliminating the donor's problems of time and distance using technology.
