Muscat: Dr Rawiyah bint Saud Al Busaidiyah, Minister of Higher Education, received at general diwan of the ministry yesterday a delegation from Monash University, Australia comprising Dr Ed Byrne, Vice Chancellor of the University, and Dr Nizar Farjou, Director, Middle East & North Africa.
The meeting reviewed the status of higher education in the Sultanate and the academic and research cooperation.
During the meeting, Dr Rawiyah gave an overview on the higher education in the Sultanate and pointed out that the number of students in the private higher education institutions now stand at 40,000 compared to 49,000 students in the public higher education institutions.
