Waqar opens Sharjah Sixes

Sharjah:
Sharjah Cricket Cub will host the Sharjah Sixes cricket tournament from April 29 to May 11.
The event be held under the auspices of the Sharjah Cricket Council and will be open to 48 corporate teams from the United Arab Emirates and across the world.
Speaking at the launch of the tournament and the unveiling of the website, Waqar Younis, the current brand ambassador for the tournament, said, "I have a great affinity for Sharjah, and I love this stadium. When I was approached for the role of the event ambassador, I immediately said 'Yes.' I want to come back here, and I want to see Sharjah get back on track.
The tournament will offer a total cash prize of Dhs100,000, and the match highlights will be aired on Ten Sports. Waleed Bukhatir, vice-chairman of the SCC, thanked Waqar Younis, and the media and sponsors for their support. According to the organisers, matches will be held every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. There will be 16 groups, and each group will have three teams. Each team will play a minimum of three matches. For further details and registration, teams can log onto www.sharjahsixes.com.
