Muscat:
Assarain A registered a comprehensive 7-wicket win against Enhance to earn a place in the semifinals of the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Senior Cup T20 tournament.
The match was played at the MOS grounds at Al Amerat.
Opting to bat, Enhance was restricted to 120 for the loss of 9 wickets at the end of their quota of 20 overs.
With a required run rate of a over six runs per over, Assarain A reached its target with ease, scoring 125 for the loss of 3 wickets with 2 overs to spare.
Brief scores: Enhance – 120 for the loss of 9 wickets off 20 overs (Khawar Ali 40 and Mohammed Arif 23; Mohammed Nadeem 3/31) lost to Assarain A – 125 for the loss of 3 wickets off 18 overs (Arun Poulose 39 and Sindo Michael 33 N.O.).
Al Turki NMC win
In an afternoon held at the same venue, of the same tournament Al Turki NMC recorded a 6-wicket win against Times of Oman A to book a place in the semifinals.
Electing to bat, Times of Oman A managed to reach 108 for the loss of 8 wickets off the 20 allotted overs.
Requiring 109 for a win and a place in the semifinals, Al Turki NMC reached its target, losing 4 wickets off 19.4 overs.
Brief scores: Times of Oman A – 108 for the loss of 8 wickets off 20 overs (Sultan Ahmed 29 and Bashir Iqbal 21; Rajnishkumar Patel 2/13 and Brijish Patel 2/25) lost to Al Turki NMC – 109 for the loss of 4 wickets off 19.4 overs (Ajay Lalcheta 44 and Twinkle Bhandari 26; Khalid Rasheed 2/25).
