Muscat: Zeeshan Maqsood, with bowling figures of 4 for 14 off 4 overs and scoring 36, helped Assarain A record a 56-run win against Arabian Industries to book a place in the finals of the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Senior Cup T20 tournament. The match was played during the weekend at the Ministry of Sports turf grounds at Al Amerat.
Electing to bat, Assarain A scored 153 runs for the loss of 8 wickets off their stipulated 20 overs. Opener Arun Poulose made a useful 21 and then departed with a score board showing 34. Opening batsman Zeeshan Maqsood, along with skipper Arif Hussain, 42, put on 67 runs to help swell the score. Jaspreet Singh and David Samrot bagged 3 wickets each, conceding 23 and 30 runs, respectively, off 4 overs each.
Requiring under eight runs per over, Arabian Industries was bowled out for 99 off 18.1 overs. Major contributions came from Mohammed Khalid, 23; Shane Alam Faridi, 22; and Jaspreet Singh, who made 22. Zeeshan received valuable support from Sindo Michael, 3 for 20 off 4 overs, and Shiju V.S., 2 for 14 off 3.1 overs.

Passage To India win Passage to India defeated Al Turki NMC by 41 runs, thanks to a brilliant 79 from opening batsman Jaymin Tailor and an excellent spell of bowling from skipper Rajesh Panchal, who bagged 4 for 17 off 4 overs. The Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Senior Cup Knock-out T20 match was played in the afternoon at the same venue as the above match.
Batting first, Passage to India reached 170 for the loss of 8 wickets at the end of the 20th over. Other valuable contributions came from Abdulahad Malek, 22, and Zeeshan Ahmed, 21. The bowlers to take the wickets were Brijesh Patel and skipper Ajay Lalcheta, who ended with 3 wickets each, conceding 18 and 46 runs, respectively, off 4 overs each. Set a target of 171 runs for victory and a place in the finals, Al Turki NMC was off to a solid start, with openers Ajay Lalcheta, 60, and Twinkle Bhandari, 29, being associated in a 91-run partnership off 12 overs.
With the exit of the duo in quick succession, wickets tumbled and the team could only manage 129 for the loss of 9 wickets at the end of the stipulated 20 overs.

Assarain A will meet Passage to India in the Senior Cup finals at the Ministry of Sports turf ground at Al Amerat on March 15 at 1.30pm.
Stars Light win Stars Light qualified for the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Intermediate Cup T20 Knock-out finals when they chalked up an easy 4-wicket win against Enhance Eagles in a semifinal match played at the adjoining ground No.1 at Al Amerat.
Invited to bat, Enhance Eagles was bowled out for 120 off 19.1 overs, with a top score of 25 from Deep Jayawant. Skipper Mohsin Raza was the pick of the bowlers, with figures of 3 for 16 off 3 overs, whilst Usman Haider, 2 for 20; Rana Zeeshan, 2 for 23; and Irtaza Ahmed, 2 for 28, lent valuable support.
Requiring over a run a ball, Stars Light was precariously placed, with a score of 70 for the loss of 7 wickets off 11 overs and opening batsman Mujtaba Ahmed chipping in with 25. Ateeq Ahmed, coming in at the fall of the fourth wicket, remained unbeaten on 42 and, with Rajesh Khetani, 27 Not Out, put together 51 runs to take the score to 121 without further losses and with 5 overs to spare. Afsal K. bowled a tidy spell to end with 4 for 20 off 4 overs.
