Muscat: The Majlis Al Shura at its session yesterday approved the scope of work, as well as the legal and practical status of the Budget and Final Account Committee. This Committee is the 10th standing committee of Majlis Al Shura.
Khalid bin Ahmed Al Sa'adi, member of the Legislative and Legal Committee, said the committee's main task would be to study the draft general budgets of the state and the final account, the report of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution, and to conduct a detailed study.
The Majlis also approved a number of draft agreements that were referred to it by the Council of Ministers, including the draft agreement for avoidance of double taxation and tax evasion on income tax between the Sultanate's government and the government of Japan.
It also approved the draft agreement for the permanent headquarters for the Fish Support Unit affiliated to the Indian Ocean Rim-Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) and the draft agreement to establish a national center affiliated to the United Nations (UN) to teach space sciences for West Asia region.
