Muscat: Zeeshan Maqsood, with brilliant bowling figures of 3 for 14 off 4 overs, helped Assarain A register a 14-run win against Passage to India in the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Senior Cup T20 knock-out tournament finals. The low-scoring match was played during the weekend at the Ministry of Sports turf grounds at Al Amerat in the afternoon.
Electing to bat, Assarain A was precariously placed, with the score on 92 for the loss of 6 wickets off 16.2 overs, but managed to reach 129 without further loss, thanks to an unfinished seventh-wicket partnership of 37 runs between Khurram Khan, 30 not out, and Ram Kumar, coming in at the fall of the sixth wicket and remaining unbeaten on 18. The duo snatched 30 runs off the last 2 overs. Earlier in the innings, Sindo Michael made a useful 20. Mohammed Saeed picked up 2 wickets, conceding 20 runs off 4 overs.
Set a target of 130 for victory and championship honours, Passage to India was restricted to 115 for the loss of 6 wickets, thanks to a stubborn run a ball of 43 from Mohammed Saeed, who had opened the batting. Shadab Khan remained unbeaten on 24.

Stars Light win Stars Light, runner-up in the C Division League, registered a massive 8-wicket win against D Division League champions Muscat Duty Free (MDF), when the two teams clashed in the finals of the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Intermediate Cup T20 match played on the adjoining ground No.1 at Al Amerat.
Electing to field first, Stars Light justified their decision when they restricted MDF to 126 for the loss of 9 wickets off the 20 allotted overs.
Stars Light, in response, sprinted to 128 for the loss of 2 wickets off 11.3 overs. Assarain B win Opening batsman Mohammed Naseem, with a scintillating 128, helped Assarain B register a comprehensive 53-run win against Al Hashim Projects and clinch the Khimji Ramdas-sponsored Junior Cup T20 tournament to add to their win in the 'F' Division League tournament. The final was held at Municipality Ground No.1 at Al Amerat. Opting to bat, Assarain B piled up a mammoth 222 for the loss of 3 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
Al Hashim Projects, requiring a daunting 223 for a win, did well to reach 169 for the loss of 5 wickets off the 20 stipulated overs.
