Muscat: The Tender Board yesterday awarded projects worth OMR56.81 million. The board meeting was held for the first time in 2013, under the chairmanship of Dr Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, Chairman of the Tender Board. 

The major contracts awarded include supply of diesel for power generating plants at the Governorates of Musandam and Al Wusta affiliated to the Rural Areas Electricity Company.

This is worth OMR42.94 million. Other tenders are construction of water distribution networks at villages of Tawi Al Nisf, Wadi Mahram, Saima and nearby villages in wilayats of Sumail and Izki in the Governorate of A'Dakhiliyah worth OMR10.87 million and operation and maintenance of power generating plants at (Group D) affiliated to the Rural Areas Electricity Company (worth OMR3.01 million). 

The board members also opened bids for supply of furniture for teachers' rooms at schools (second stage) and supply of furniture, devices and equipment for schools, houses and offices for the academic year 2013-2014.
