Ankara: Two simultaneous attacks late Tuesday in Ankara targeted the justice ministry and the headquarters of Turkey's ruling party, Turkish Justice Minister Sadullah Ergin said.

One person was slightly injured, he added.

Two grenades exploded around 9:00 pm (1900 GMT) before the entrance to an annex of the justice ministry, Ergin told journalists.

The second attack with a rocket launcher hit the headquarters of the Islamic-rooted Justice and Development Party of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he said.

At the ministry, "the wife of one of the staff was lightly wounded, but all is well, she has left the hospital", he added.

The double attack comes as jailed Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan is expected to call for a ceasefire on Thursday, amid talks with the government officials seeking to end the nearly three-decade-long conflict between PKK rebels and Turkish security forces.

The blasts also come the day after an Istanbul prosecutor asked for life sentences for the key suspects on trial accused of attempting to overthrow Erdogan's government.
