Muscat: Four of the world's top a Cappella groups converge for three evenings of vocal mastery at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) from March 26 to 28.  They will celebrate the human voice and its ability to express varied emotions without the accompaniment of any music.

The first evening opens with the American women's ensemble Sweet Honey In The Rock and the South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The second evening includes performances by the Bulgarian female chorus Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares and the third evening features American male vocalists Cantus.

Sweet Honey In The Rock, which has a rich heritage as activists and a legacy for defending social, racial, and political equality and justice released their inspirational and thought-provoking single and video ARE WE A NATION.

In 2013, Ladysmith Black Mambazo –led by founder and leader Joseph Shabalala– celebrates over 50 years of joyous and uplifting music that marries the intricate rhythms and harmonies of their native South African musical traditions to the sounds and sentiments of Christian gospel music. In those years, the a cappella vocal group has created a musical and spiritual alchemy that has touched a worldwide audience representing every corner of the religious, cultural and ethnic landscape.

The Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir, known all over the world as 'Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares', is an ensemble of a rare artistic gift and enormous popular appeal. Its story is a story of a success. Created 50 years ago, its goal was to enrich the heritage of the Bulgarian solo folk song with harmonies and arrangement that highlighted its beautiful timbres and irregular rhythms.

Recognized as the "premier men's vocal ensemble in the US" by Fanfare, Cantus is known around the world for its trademark warmth and blend and its engaging performances of music ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Working without a conductor, the members of Cantus rehearse and perform as chamber musicians, each contributing to the entirety of the artistic process.
