Overseas voting for Filipinos from April 13

Muscat: The Filipino community in Oman will exercise their right to vote in the 2013 Philippine national elections, as over 4,500 registered overseas Filipinos in the Sultanate begin voting during a one-month voting period beginning April 13 and continuing until May 13.

The Philippine Embassy had earlier released the Certified List of Overseas Voters, the list of all qualified overseas voters, through its website, and on other social media sites.

Filipino overseas voters who failed to vote in the 2007 and 2010 elections will still be allowed to vote, provided they present themselves to the embassy and file documents declaring their intent to vote.

Ambassador's call
Meanwhile, Philippines Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Joselito A. Jimeno, has called upon all qualified overseas voters to visit the embassy during the month-long election period to vote and show solidarity with the Filipinos back home and overseas in choosing the best leaders for the country.
