Bank Muscat got the better Ahli Bank by four wickets in an Oman Cricket organised G Division Group A 25 overs a side match played during the week end at the Municipality Ground No.2 at Al Amerat.
Electing to bat Ahli Bank lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 150 runs off 24.2.
Requiring a fraction of over six runs per over Bank Muscat were precariously placed with the scoreboard reading 93 for the loss of six wickets off 13 overs.
An unfinished seventh wicket partnership between Benny Mathew 30no and Pratik Dalal unbeaten on 28 took them safely to 153 off 21.3 overs without further loss.
Brief scores: Ahli Bank 150 all out off 24.2 overs (Sarwar Lodhi 36, Mohammed Ramzan 29 and Saud Khan 22; Pratik Dalal 4/32, Nilmani Gautam 2/23 and Suresh Thyagarajan 2/28) lost to Bank Muscat 153 for the loss of 6 wickets off 21.2 overs (Benny Mathew 30no, Osman Al Zadjali 30, Pratik Dalal 28no and Avinash 26; Ajay Kumar 2/24). Points: Bank Muscat - 2 points (4 games – 6 points) and Ahli Bank – Nil points (4 games – 2 points).
Opening the batting Abdul Majeed with a well compiled 64 and Tariq Mahmood with bowling figures of 4 for 30 off 3.4 overs helped RAFO seal a 73 run win against Larsen & Toubro Electromech. The Raha Poly Products sponsored D Division 25 overs a side match was played in at the same venue.
RAFO batting first piled on 202 runs for the loss of seven wickets at the end of 25 overs. L&T Electromech in their turn were bowled out for 129 off 19.4 overs.
Brief scores: RAFO 202 for the loss of 7 wickets off 25 overs (Abdul Majeed 64, Saifullah Abdullah 52no, Syed Issa 24 and Saghir Iqbal 23) defeated L&T Electromech 129 all out off 19.4 overs (Altaf P.K. 31 and Baiju Chellappan 30; Tariq Mahmood 4/30, Saghir Iqbal 3/20 and Saifullah Abdullah 2/18). Points: RAFO - 2 points (4 games – 4 points) L&T Electromech - Nil points (4 games – 2 points).
Mohammad Aslam excels
Mohammed Aslam with tantalising bowling figures of 6 for 32 off 4.5 overs guided National Bank of Oman (NBO) to a massive seven wicket win against Majees Cricket Team in an Arabian Industries sponsored E Division 25 over match played at the Municipality ground No.4 at Al Amerat.
Electing to bat Majees were bowled out for 183 off 23.5 overs.
Requiring 184 for victory NBO raced to 184 for the loss of three wickets with opening batsman Abhishek Prafull scoring a brilliant 58. The other noteworthy contributors were Sanket Santosh 45no and Ramesh V. 22.
Brief scores: Majees 183 all out off 23.5 overs (Amir Farooq Ali 64, Bhairaw Uttamchand 32 and Adnan Mehboob 23; Mohammed Aslam 6/32 and Mohammed Imran 2/30) lost to NBO 184 for the loss of 3 wickets off 18.4 overs (Abhishek Prafull 58, Sanket Santosh 45no and Ramesh V. 22). Points: NBO - 2 points (4 games – 8 points) and Majees - Nil points (4 games – 4 points).
ISC Urdu Wing win
In a G Division Group B match played at the same venue ISC Urdu Wing defeated OCT Muscat B by a margin of four wickets.
Deciding to take first strike OCT Muscat B failed to capitalise and were bowled out for a measly 101 runs off 17.2 overs.
ISC Urdu Wing in reply were staggering with the score on 89 for the loss of six wickets off 11.5 overs and were guided to a win by an unbeaten 26 from No.6 batsman Irshad. Earlier Chetan Sharma made a valuable 33. Ismail Mohammed picked up two wickets conceding 24 runs off 3 overs.
Brief scores: OCT Muscat B 101 all out off 17.2 overs (Abid Ali 29 and Mohammed Kader 26; Foizam Dawnak 3/24, Syed Salman 2/15, Sheikh Shameel 2/18 and Chetan Sharma 2/20) lost to ISC Urdu Wing 102 for the loss of 6 wickets off 13.5 overs (Chetan Sharma 33 and Irshad 26no, Ismail Mohammed 2/24). Points: ISC Urdu Wing - 2 points (4 games – 6 points) and OCT Muscat B - Nil points (3 games – Nil points).
