Muscat: Indian Social Club, Salalah, winter sports extravaganza kicked off with the badminton tournament being held at the Sultan Qaboos Multipurpose Hall on November 15. The opening ceremony began with speech by the Chairman Manpreet Singhand he launched the event with vice-chairman U.P. Saseendran.
In the opening day's doubles match Antony Jibin and Sathar defeated the pair of Shaiju Marath and Ramshad in straight games 21-13, 21-14. In the other match Mohammed Mashmool and Hashim Haneefa over powered Rohan Varkey and Donny P.M., 21-16, 21-09.
