Tehran: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said met with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the presidency building in Tehran yesterday. Dr Hassan Rowhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was also present
at the meeting.
During the meeting, the leaders reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and affirmed their mutual keenness to enhance the foreign relations and boost the strong ties binding the two friendly people, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by the members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the Sultan. It was also attended from the Iranian side by Mohammed Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister, Dr Ali Akbar Velayati, Adviser to the Leader of the Revolution, Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani, Head of the Office of Revolution's Leader, Deputy Foreign Minister and the Iranian Ambassador to the Sultanate.
His Majesty the Sultan received Mohammed Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Hossein Dehghan, Minister of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meetings, the existing bilateral relations between the two countries and means of promoting them were discussed, in addition to a number of issues of common concern.
Iranian President Dr. Hassan Rowhani hosted a dinner at Al Hafiziyah Palace yesterday in the honour of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his accompanying delegation.
It was attended, along with His Majesty the Sultan, by the members of the delegation accompanying His Majesty and a number of ministers and senior officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
