Oman cagers clinch third place

Oman boys outplayed Qatar to clinch third place at the GCC Under-15 Basketball Championship in Bahrain yesterday.
According to information provided by the Oman Basketball Association officials, the Omanis, who are coached by Marco Kurovic, were too good for Qatar in their 101-48 victory in the third place match.
Earlier in the semifinals, Oman had lost to hosts Bahrain 55-92.
Meanwhile, OBA officials are gearing for the first-ever youth camp to be held at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex today.
The officials said the camp will see participation of 70 to 100 under-15 players from various clubs in the Sultanate as well as 17 juniors from the United Arab Emirates.
"This is the first time we are organising such a big training camp of the youth. We hope to make it an international event and organise it annually," the officials said.
During the camp, two experts from abroad will delivering lectures. Kuwait's Faisal 'Bruce Lee' and Bahrain's Ali Hussain will be training the participants on the fundamentals of basketball.
The coaches from OBA training centres will also attend the camp while the OBA officials are also urging the coaches and officials from various clubs to benefit from the camp, which will comprise practical sessions.
