Tehran: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said left Tehran yesterday morning, concluding his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
His Majesty was seen off at the Mehrabad airport by a number of senior officials of Iran, including ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate and members of the embassy, as well as the Sultanate's ambassador to Iran and members of the embassy.
Upon his departure, His Majesty the Sultan sent a cable of thanks and appreciation to President Dr Hassan Rowhani of Iran. In his cable, His Majesty expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality that His Majesty and the accompanying delegation received during the visit.
His Majesty affirmed that the meeting with President Dr Rowhani was a good opportunity for enhancing the Omani-Iranian strong relations and cooperation between the two countries in various spheres to serve the interests of the Omani and Iranian people, praying to Allah the Almighty to protect President Dr Rowhani and grant him good health, happiness and success to achieve the aspirations of Iranian people.
On his return, His Majesty the Sultan was received at the Royal Airport by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, His Highness Sayyid Asa'ad bin Tariq Al Said, Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Nassr bin Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Kindi, Secretary General of the Royal Court Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Salmi, Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat, Lt.Gen Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, Lt.Gen Said bin Ali Al Hilali, Head of the Internal Security Service, Lt.Gen Ahmed bin Harith bin Nassir Al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan's Armed Forces (SAF), Air Vice-Marshal Mattar bin Ali Al Obaidani, Commander of the Royal Air Force of Oman and Charge d'affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate.
During his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied by an official delegation comprising Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu'amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Rowas, Adviser to His Majesty the Sultan for Cultural Affairs, Dr Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, Dr Salim bin Nasser Al Ismaily, Chairman of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development (PAIPED) and Sheikh Yahya bin Abdullah bin Salim Al Fannah Al Araimi, Sultanate's ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
