Muscat: The Drug Enforcement Department of the Royal Oman Police (ROP) arrested a drug peddler in North Batinah.
The ROP officers arrested a suspect for involvement in the narcotics trade and seized a large quantity of contraband, including two kilograms of hashish and opium, and 42,500 tramadol tablets. The police also recovered some cash that was proceeds from the sale of drugs. The accused was referred to the Public Prosecution.
Meanwhile, the Investigation and Criminal Investigation Department of the ROP arrested three persons on the charges of jewellery theft in the wilayat of Jaalan bani bu ali.
The three accused were arrested following an investigation and search of the area. They confessed to having stolen jewellery from a house in the wilayat of Jaalan and also from some jewellery shops. Police have recovered the stolen jewellery from them.
