Muscat: "Had a wonderful show in Muscat as I consider life is my audience and I am because of them," Mika Singh, better known as "The Badshah of Bollywood" said, after he and his 13-member troop delivered a show to remember for more than two hours at City Amphitheatre in Qurum on November 14.
The show was an absolute experience for Mika's diehard fans in Oman as he enthralled everyone with his mesmerising performance.
Thousands of dancing fans engulfed in the Chinta Ta frenzy, donning Mika Singh's T-shirts turned down the City Amphitheatre in Qurum into a colossal dance floor.
At one point, it felt that the seats were all empty, that's because a large number of audience was on its feet.
Barely minutes after the show started the singer successfully got everybody in the mood to dance as he delivered Main Tera Hero, Pungi, Dhinka Chika, Jugni, and Subhah Hone Na De one after another.
From his days of riding a cycle to owning a Hummer now, this "Badshah of Bollywood" sure has come a long way.
"I spent a lot of time playing the guitar for my elder brother Daler Mehndi. I used to travel with him and play at his live shows.
That is when I learnt the nuances of stage performance. Often there are singers who are very talented but don't know how to perform and carry themselves in front of a crowd. I give my audience a complete entertainment," he says.
Originally named Amrik Singh, Mika made his debut in 1998 with an album titled Saawan Main Lag Gayi Aag.
"And the only song for which I was lobbied in my life was Singh is King as I thought I could only do justice to this song," he said.
In the middle of the show, Mika called all the children on to the stage and asked them to sing along and dance. The kid brigade was so happy that they even matched steps with "Mika uncle."
He also regaled the audience with Singh Is King (Singh Is King), Mauja Hi Mauja (Jab We Met), Ibn-e-Batuta (Ishqiya), Dhanno (Houseful), Dhin Chika (Ready), Desi Beat (Body Guard), Subah Hone Na De (Desi Boys), Pungi (Agent Vinod), Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita (Rowdy Rathore), Ganpat (Shootout at Lokhandwala), Gabru (album) and Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag (album).
The event was brought by Zouk Events who introduced a new standard of excellence with Zouk Lounge and Club at Crowne Plaza Muscat.
