Salalah: The international night of the 16th International Scout Gathering for Exchange of Culture and Civilization was opened at the permanent scout camp in Jabal Ashor Plain Wednesday under the patronage of Sheikh Salim bin Ufait al-Shanfri, Head of Dhofar Municipality.
Sheikh al-Shanfri stressed the importance of the Sultanate's hosting the 16th International Scout Gathering for Exchange of Culture and Civilization that contributes in familiarizing with civilization, history and achievements of the Sultanate.
The opening ceremony of the international night began with opening the global scout village that includes an integrated scout camp, besides a scout exhibition and activities of challenge and adventure.
Activities of the 16th International Scout Gathering for Exchange of Culture and Civilization will be concluded tomorrow (Thursday) under the auspices of Saud bin Salim al-Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Planning and Human Resources Development. The forum is hosted by the Sultanate through the Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate General of Scouts and Guides during September 5th to 13th, 2013 under the theme "Our Heritage: Bridges for Understanding and Future Building" as participants from 35 countries took part during which they visited a number of governorates of Oman.
