Muscat: A delegation from the Higher Security Academy in Sudan, led by its director Prof. Ibrahim Abu Auf Mohammed, visited the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) yesterday.
The delegation was received by Prof. Amer bin Ali Al Rawas, SQU's Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and other top officials. The visit falls within the framework of promoting cooperation between the two institutions through exchange of expertise and experience.
The meeting between the officials of the two institutions reviewed certain issues of mutual interest. In order to have a face to face interaction with academicians and researchers, the delegation visited some of the faculties at the SQU, including the College of Engineering and the Remote Sensing and GIS Centre.
The team also visited the Cultural Centre and the Main Library at the SQU.
The visit of the delegation from the Higher Security Academy in Sudan is important for the SQU since it maintains close ties with the Oman National Defence College. The visit is expected to broaden the prospects for future collaboration and exchange of expertise.
Prof. Ibrahim Abu Auf laid stress on the importance of academic and research ties between Sudan and the Sultanate. "These ties can be nurtured through mutual visits, joint forums and events," he said, underscoring the need for wider partnership between the Arab and Islamic nations for social and cultural development and national security of all the countries.
The concert will begin at 7:30pm. For tickets or more information, visit www.rohmuscat.org.om or call 24403332.
