: Air-India Express is rationalising its Oman-India flight routes on the Kerala sector from October 27 to offer more convenient connectivity to passengers, a senior official of airlines in Muscat, told the Times of Oman.
The proposed winter schedule from October 27 will now have three extra flights from Kozhikode to Muscat.
"We are raising the number of flights from Muscat to Kozhikode from four to seven. The arrangement will continue with only a brief halt in the months of November and February when the number of passengers is low," he said.
There will be one direct flight to Salalah and another via Kochi, he added.
"As for the other routes, the old schedule will continue. The Air India schedule will also remain unchanged," he said.
Giving details of the plans for the region, he said that Air India Express will also operate daily flights from Kochi to Dubai.
There will be four flights to Sharjah and three to Kuwait every week.
The airlines will operate seven flights a week to Doha with halts at Kozhikode and Bahrain. From Thiruvananthapuram to Abu Dhabi, there will be daily flights.
Five flights in a week to Dubai have also been scheduled. There will be three flights to Sharjah every week. From Mangalore, there will be 14 flights a week to Dubai, three to Muscat via Abu Dhabi, two to Bahrain and two to Doha.
A total of 109 flights to the Gulf have been scheduled per week. A total of 20 domestic flights will take off from Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.
To Mumbai, there will be four flights a week from Kochi, three from Kozhikode, three from Thiruvananthapuram and four from Managalore. Four flights from Mangalore to Bangalore have been scheduled. One flight each from Kochi and Kozhikode to Thiruvanathapuram have also been scheduled.
