Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Directorate of Military Sports in the Sultan's Armed Forces, will host the Asian Military Soccer Qualifying Tournament from February 10, 2013.
The Sultanate received in Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the CISM (Conseil International du Sport Militaire, International Military Sports Council) flag.
The ceremony was held at the Military Sports Federation of the Bahrain Defence Force, as part of the draw for the Asian Football qualifiers being hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The flag was received by the Director of Military Sports in COSAF, head of the Omani delegation. Six countries, Bahrain, Qatar, Iraq, Iran, Kazakhstan and Oman, the host country, will be taking part in the tournament.
The participating teams have been divided into two groups and the Sultanate's team is in the first group along with Qatar and Iran.
This tournament is an important one on which the military sports federations officials rely on to prepare strong military teams capable of challenging international military soccer teams.
