Road accidents claim two lives

Muscat: Two separate road accidents claimed two lives in the Sultanate yesterday.

According to the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA), one person was killed and six others suffered severe to light injuries in Al Khoud when two school buses collided.

"Condition of one of the injured is critical. Two others suffered medium injuries while three suffered minor injuries," PACDA's official facebook post said.

Meanwhile, in Haima, one person was killed while four suffered injuries in a car accident.

"The injured and the deceased's body were shifted to the hospital by Royal Oman Police's air wing," the PACDA's facebook post said.

The nationalities of the victims were not known till this report was filed.

Meanwhile, firefighters were able to contain a fire that broke out in Barka yesterday morning.

"The fire broke out in portable cabins in Barka. The firefighters were able to put out the blaze. No causalities were reported," the PACDA's Facebook post said.
