GCC Inmates Week
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) continues its preparations to celebrate the GCC Inmates Week from December 8 to 11 with the participation of all Punitive and Correctional Establishments in the nation.
This year's celebration is titled 'Take my Hand towards a Better Future'.
Brigadier Hamid bin Khalifa Al Khanbashi, director-general of Prisons at the ROP, said this year's theme was chosen by the GCC for the second year in a row and symbolises the communication with the inmates and involving them in providing a better future for them and for their families.
The theme also symbolises renewing of hope for a better life for the inmates and a turning point as they once again join efforts to build the nation and family.
Rescuers with the Royal Oman Police Coast Guard towed a yacht off the coast with 15 people on board to safety after their sailboat disintegrated in the middle of the sea. A Coast Guard Command received a report about the yacht having met the mishap. The yacht was towed to the Al Rawdah port. All the passengers were shifted to safety.
