Sayyid Fahd arrives in Kuwait for GCC summit

Kuwait City: Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, arrived in Kuwait on Tuesday to take part, on behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, in the 34th Summit of the GCC Leaders, due to begin later this evening.

Sayyid Fahd was received upon his arrival at the Amiri Airport by Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabir al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait.

He was also received by Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jabir al-Sabah, Heir Apparent; Sheikh Jabir Al Mubarak al-Sabah, Prime Minister; Marzouq al-Ghanim, Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly; Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmed Al Sabah Al Jabir al-Sabah, Deputy Chief of the National Guards; Sheikh Nasser Al Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber al-Sabah, Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs and Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Sayyid Fahd was also received by Sheikh Mohammed Al Khalid Al Hamad al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Salim Abdulaziz Saud al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister; Minister of Finance, Lt.Gen Sheikh Khalid Al Jarrah al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence; Abdul Latif bin Rashid al-Zayani, GCC Secretary General, a number of senior Kuwaiti senior officials, commanders of the army, police and National Guards of Kuwait, as well as members of the Sultanate's Embassy in Kuwait.

Upon his arrival, the Omani deputy prime minister of for the Council of Ministers hailed efforts made to promote the Gulf march through the existing system of the Council to achieve everything that realizes the aspirations of the countries of the region. 

"While the Sultanate expresses full appreciation for the achievements made in the sisterly State of Kuwait under its wise leadership, it also praises its good efforts to enhance the Gulf understanding and cooperation,'' the top Omani official said in a statement in Kuwait. 

Sayyid Fahd is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs; Ali bin Masud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Legal Affairs and a number of government officials.
