Muscat: Sohar Aluminium announced that the Aluminium Industry Gathering for 2014 will take place in Oman in February and under the patronage of the Gulf Aluminium Council (GAC). This event consists of a number of high level global meetings and events related to the Aluminium industry culminating in the annual Gulf Aluminium Dinner (GAD).
The GAD, has become a sought after event in the Aluminium industry as it is the only event whereby top level executives from aluminum producing companies, technology providers, power generation manufacturers, traders and aluminum users, have the chance to meet annually.
The participants come from around the world, including the Gulf & Mena region, Australia, USA, Canada, Russia, all over Europe and Africa.
The Gulf Aluminium Dinner 2014 will take place at the Al Bustan hotel, Muscat. The keynote speaker this year will be Garry Jones, CEO, London Metal Exchange (LME).
This year Sohar Aluminium is delighted that the GAD has been set to take place in Oman as this will be an excellent chance to promote the country, its business, its industries and future development opportunities. Key decision makers from around the world who are attending this dinner will have a chance to explore future business and investment opportunities in Oman.

During the same week, the Board of Directors of the Gulf Aluminium Council consisting of all the Chief Executive Officers of Aluminium Smelters in the Gulf will meet in Muscat to discuss issues of common concern and ways of strengthening the cooperation between aluminium industries in the Gulf.
Moreover, the International Aluminium Association Leaders who represent the Aluminium industry in different regions of the world, along with the International Aluminium Institute will also have their annual meetings in Muscat during the same week.
The GAC is a coordinating body that represents, promotes and protects the interests of the aluminium industry within the Gulf. The Council's main objectives are to provide a forum to develop strategies for common issues and concerns facing the aluminium industry in the region, and to share best practices so as to improve the efficiency of the industry.
