Muscat: Mohammed bin Nasser Al Rasbi, undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence and chairman of Oman Ammunitions Production Company, signed at Mua'askar Al Murtafa'ah on Tuesday, a contract for the purchase of equipment for the manufacturing of ammunition. The pact was signed with the general manager of Manurhin Company of France, the strategic partner for Oman Ammunitions Production Company.
The establishment of Oman Ammunition Production Company, the first of its kind in the Sultanate, was made through a contribution by the pension funds for the military and security apparatuses.
The contract comes within the Royal care of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and His Majesty's keenness to enhance its capabilities to play its leading role and national duties assigned to it. The signing ceremony was attended by the French ambassador to the Sultanate, the French Military Attaché in Muscat, a number of senior officials from Manurhin Company, senior SAF officers and Board Members of Oman Ammunitions Production Company.
