Oman Sports Exhibition kicks off
The first edition of Oman Sports Exhibition and Conference kicked off at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on 3 February 2013. Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, secretary-general of the Supreme Council for Planning, inaugurated the three-day event organised by Global Exhibitions and Conferences (GEC) in partnership with the Ministry of Sport Affairs (MoSA).
Hussain Al Jabri strikes gold at Sail the Gulf regatta
Oman's young Laser sailor Hussain Al Jabri left for Qatar's prestigious Sail the Gulf regatta in the month of February with no expectations other than to develop and test his skills against an international fleet; however, he returned home 23 February, 2013 as a champion after winning his class.
Oman teams strike double gold at GCC Sailing Championships
Musannah's sea breeze filled in at midday with a perfect 10-12 knots, ideal conditions for the grand finale of the GCC Sailing Championships. Whilst 30 March, 2013 marked the end of the fleet racing, it was the first time that Oman's Optimist Team Racing has featured in this event, and the young sailors took to this mentally and physically challenging form of racing well, with Oman showing particular skill and taking first place. Oman took gold in the Optimist and Hobie fleet, and silver in the Laser Standard, whilst Qatar claimed gold in the Standard, Radial and 4.7 class.

ASAF gala hosted by Oman
Asian Sailing Federation (ASAF) took historic steps in their AGM held in Oman on the sidelines of the ISAF Conference, which is underway at the Shangri La Barr Al Jissah Resort.At the onset, Dr Malav Shroff was unanimously elected the President of Asian Sailing Federation and Park Soon-Ho would now assume the position of honorary president as per the ASAF constitution.

Al Harthy sets sight on maiden podium finish
